Just a few blocks away from our store and office in Rotterdam, we found a place that feels like a quiet rebellion against the digital rush. At Cameralisatie, photographer Woody van Overdijk chose to walk a different path - one that goes back to the roots of image-making: analogue photography. 

Woody's background lies in graphic design, but his true education came from curiosity and persistence. In 2018, he took apart his first film-developing machine, piece by piece, just to understand how it worked. Years later, that same curiosity has grown into a thriving analogue lab and creative hub for Rotterdam's photography community. 

At Cameralisatie, everything revolves around the process - from loading the film to developing and printing in the darkroom. It's a space where time slows down and where each step demands attention, patience and skill. 
In a world that moves faster every day, Woody and his team offer something beautifully different: a return to craft. 

What connects VICO to Cameralisatie is a shared respect for craft. Both approach their work with patience, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for process and detail. It's about taking the time to do things right - and letting quality speak for itself. 

The goal of Woody is to share that experience with others - through courses, workshops and monthly darkroom printing sessions open to both beginners and advanced photographers. Whether you're new to film or already experienced, Cameralisatie invites you to rediscover the joy of creating something with your own hands.
